Change in the legislation ‘Ventanilla Unica’ – Mexican Customs
Beginning June 1st, Mexican Customs will apply a new Regulation for Export and Import in the country, called Mexican Digital Window.
This is the explanation for each process :
Import (any kind of product import in the country):
The importer needs to create an Electronic Invoice (named COVE). This information needs to be entered in the webpage created by customs (below) and enter the same information that appear in the Original Commercial Invoice . When this process in done the Importer will receive a document that the legal representative of the company need to sign electronically; finally the Importer will receive a proof of the process with a NUMBER) . This Number needs to be provided to the broker and they scan and present this at the moment of the clearance and it needs to match with the Physical Shipment, the final PEDIMENTO (Import Release) will include this COVE Number.
Export (Export Biological Samples):
Marken Mexico starting today will process a COVE for all the consolidation samples going to Miami and NY, this includes inputting all the information of the consolidation: Exporter Name (Marken Mexico), Destination: Marken Miami or Marken NY, Description of the Product: Biological Samples, Value and Quantity of Pieces. When the webpage sends the final Electronic Document will sign for the Legal Representative of Marken and get the final COVE Number.
This number will be given to our Customs Agent and they put in the Pedimento (Export Entry). Once this is finalized, we can bring the cargo to the airline and continue the export process.
