Transition to New International Airport in Istanbul

Late this year, Turkey will relocate its current International airport (Atatürk Airport) located at the Marmara sea, to a new and larger location (İstanbul Yeni Havalimanı) near the black sea. The transition is scheduled to take place from December 30-31, 2018.

When the entire airport project is complete in 2028, it will be the world’s largest airport, with a capacity of about 200 million passengers.

Marken has already put contingency plans into place to reroute shipments to minimize any impact. Clients may reach out to a local Marken office for updates on a particular shipment.
