Marken collected a shipment from southern Sweden that was bound for next-day delivery in northern Belgium. However, all airline flights into Belgium were cancelled as a result of a strike action by airport workers.

Marken arranged for a dedicated driver to take the shipment from southern Sweden to Copenhagen, Denmark. The consignment was placed on a flight from Copenhagen to Amsterdam, Holland. From that point, Marken arranged for priority recovery in Amsterdam, and a driver was on standby to collect the sample when it arrived. The shipment was then moved by dedicated vehicle from Amsterdam to the destination in northern Belgium.

The shipment arrived on time and within specification in northern Belgium, and the client did not incur any additional logistics costs. More importantly, the data chain for the specific patient was never broken.
