Marken is actively monitoring the progress of Hurricane Milton, a rapidly intensifying and powerful storm approaching the West Coast of the Florida Peninsula, with landfall expected Wednesday evening. Currently classified as a Category 5 hurricane, it is forecasted to bring extremely adverse weather conditions, including severe storm surges, torrential rainfall, catastrophic flash and urban flooding, devastating hurricane-force winds, and tornadoes across central Florida and the surrounding regions.
Given the severity of the storm, we anticipate some level of disruption in the supply chain; however, Marken has begun implementing comprehensive contingency plans, risk management protocols and business continuity measures to mitigate impact on operations, including:
- Diverting volume from Latin America and Miami to other North America Marken facilities.
- Emergency redundancy in place to support MIA business in the event of loss of power and internet.
- Enhanced conditioning of packaging being done in all other US locations to manage cold chain needs in the event we lose conditioning or distribution capacity in MIA.
We are closely coordinating with local authorities and business partners to track the situation in real-time and will work proactively with clients to provide alternative arrangements wherever necessary, including leveraging the UPS network.
Our priority is to ensure patients are unaffected and service remains uninterrupted even under these challenging circumstances.
Please note that due to these disruptions, we expect service delays that may affect future shipments. For any immediate questions about a particular shipment, please contact your local Marken branch or business professional.
We are committed to delivering reliable service and will continue to provide updates as we assess the situation.

Marken is actively monitoring the ongoing U.S. East and Gulf Coast Port Strike initiated by the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), and its impact on the global supply chain. The duration of the work stoppage and the potential long-term effects remain uncertain, however, we do expect some additional pressure on airfreight capacity as shippers switch from ocean to air to avoid the impact of the strike.
At this time, Marken’s services and systems are not interrupted, and we remain fully operational across the U.S. East Coast region and surrounding cities, with daily collections and deliveries. To mitigate potential risks, our team is proactively assessing all lanes and shipments, and we are prepared, with contingency plans in place. Our team is in constant communication with our business partners and clients to provide alternative routes and arrangements as needed, including leveraging UPS and diverting ocean freight to air, to reduce impacts to shipments in/out of region.
As we continue to monitor the evolving situation, we anticipate some level of disruption which may constitute a force majeure event that leads to operational delays, port congestion, and increased strain on alternative ports, rail, and trucking networks. Vessel schedules may be impacted, with potential tightening of space, equipment availability, and higher costs for carriers and shippers. The peak season may further exacerbate these pressures, leading to demand spikes, capacity constraints and additional logistical pressures.
Please note that due to these disruptions, additional costs and service delays may affect both current and future shipments. For information on your particular shipment, please contact your local Marken Representatives.
We are committed to delivering reliable service and will continue to provide updates as we assess the situation.

Due to recent events impacting Lebanon, all airlines, except the local carrier Middle East Airlines (MEA), have suspended their flights to/from Beirut-rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) until further notice. MEA remains fully operational, with daily flights to/from major international hubs including London Heathrow Airport (LHR), Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA). Additionally, weekly flights options are available to/from other airports such as Brussels Airport (BRU), Geneva Airport (GVA) and Copenhagen Airport (CPH).
For other origin and/or destination lanes, such as the United States, Marken’s expert teams at our London, Paris and Frankfurt facilities are providing support with airfreight transit solutions to/from Lebanon via LHR, CDG and FRA as required.
While we continue to assess the situation, we understand and anticipate operational delays, causing disruption within the supply chain. We are in constant communication our Outside Service Providers (OSP), business partners and clients to provide alternative arrangements and our Customer Service team is communicating necessary updates directly to our clients, on a case-by-case basis.
Marken continues to source alternate routes, as needed, including leveraging UPS Air, to reduce impacts to shipments in/out of region. Marken’s regional partners are ready for road solutions and we have regional hubs in place, within our network, to redispatch to destinations, where needed.
