Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. November 20, 2013. Marken announced today that they are in the final stages of commissioning a new cold chain distribution center adjacent to Dublin International Airport. The new hub is designed to enable the distribution of clinical trial supplies within all temperature ranges for clients with manufacturing or packaging facilities in Ireland.
Dedicated features of this new facility include space for a large 15 to 25C controlled room temperature area, a 2 to 8ºC walk in refrigerator, and -20ºC walk in freezer. The rooms will be equipped with a 24/7 temperature monitoring system, fully mapped and calibrated. “We are pleased to offer this new service in Dublin,” said Wes Wheeler, Marken’s Chief Executive Officer, “With the number of pharmaceutical plants in Ireland and the growing pipeline of new drugs being developed, it makes sense for Marken to establish a presence within Ireland. The new facility allows us to expand our existing services by offering clients a full service staging and distribution solution at the airport. The facility has been built to Marken’s exacting specifications, will be operated under strict security and with constant temperature controls. This new cold chain hub will operate as all Marken facilities using Maestro for shipment bookings and tracking worldwide.”
