Although there were many challenges, Marken was able to overcome them by streamlining processes to increase efficiency safeguard product quality. These efforts helped meet patient needs and comply with regulations, ensuring the successful delivery of the therapy.

Marken mitigates logistical delays with regulatory expert oversight.

To ensure seamless route including on-time customs clearance and delivery of autologous cell therapy from the U.S. to a manufacturing site in Germany.

  • Client postponed collection by 24-hours, resulting in missing the initial evening commercial flight booked with the airline. Due to the delay, no backup flight options were available
  • Second attempt at collection the next day was delayed by an additional 3 hours
  • Adverse weather conditions also affected flight times and schedules

On the morning of the required delivery, the Marken Frankfurt team made immediate arrangements for the customs broker to meet with the onboard carrier at the airport, streamlining and expediting the customs clearance process. Once the shipment cleared customs, the driver transported the critical shipment to another German airport, ending with final mile delivery to the manufacturing site.

The autologous therapy was successfully delivered on-time to the manufacturing site, allowing for pertinent processing in order to support the health of patients.
